Highs and Low's

Yes, I like pictures of trees. I took this photo because of the clouds and the height of the trees. I saw the dark clouds rolling in on what was a , fairly, sunny day. I tend to be drawn to darker tones as opposed to bright ones. I also found it, somewhat, funny that the two trees in the front are taller than the two right behind them as if they were puropsely lined up in order by height.

In your own shadow

I was looking out the window from an upper floor of the student union building when I spotted this young man walking. I found this shot interesting because of the relation between the body and the shadow. It looks as if the young man is staring down at his shadow and the angle of the shadow causes it to appear as if the shadow is looking back at him.

Look Up

Oddly, I love the time of year when the leaves fall from the trees and most are standing tall and leafless. The tree in the photo, in actuallity, isn't as tall as it seems so, I decided to shoot the tree from underneath to make it appear taller and more grandiose, it looks as if the tree goes on forever.

Swagger

This is a photo of my father's dog, Swagger. I chose this photo mainly because of the lines of the cage as well as the angle. The angle makes Swagger's cage look a little more spacious than it actually is and the bars of the cage on the left, right, and center help frame him will. His "what are you doing in my cage" stare also helps enhance the photo.

Sky

I took this photo via Blackberry. I chose it because of the natural beauty of the clouds in the sky. In this photo, the technique I had in mind was the rule of thirds. Granted, one may see the tree as the most distinct object in the photo, because of its position in the photo, one's eyes directly go to the clouds and the somewhat of a white, blue striped pattern that can be seen.

Mime

This is a picture of my younger brother during a mime performance at church. Because of where I was located (a balcony in the back of the church) I was limitied in ways I could compose the shot so, since I know the performance, I waited for parts where I knew emotion was shown very distinctly. I chose this photo because of the slightly unusual position of his body along with the expresion of anguish and/or desparity on his face that is often seen in mime performances and expressed in gospel music.
